my adult son and I made these cookies today for the first time. first off, great-tasting cookie! we used a large cookie scoop instead of ice cream scoop and still got very sizeable cookies. I think if we make again I will try with small cookie scoop and adjust baking time. they are definitely not the picture-perfect rendition you see in the photos! they came out flatter and spread more than anticipated for such a stiff batter. as for the glaze, not even close to white since using apple cider and butter. but still tastes sweet.

I grew up on a Apple farm and we pressed thousands of gallons of cider each fall. I just had to try this recipe. I was not disappointed and they are grandchild approved.
Only thing I did different was not make huge cookies, made the balls about the size of a walnut.

Very tasty cookie, I also used 1/4 apple sauce. I didnt see this on the list when I went to the store to get the ingredients. I added a pinch more cinnamon. I am a big cinnamon lover. Very good cookie. Oh I also used a melon ball rather then the ice cream scoop. My little ones are 6 and 4 a little to much cookie for them. They are gonna love this cookie.

Yum! I made some alterations based on what I had & they turned out great! I used 1/4c of applesauce & 1/4 c of vegetable oil in lieu of the butter. I used 1c of whole wheat flour in the place of 1c of white flour. I only used 1 c of sugar & made 1/2 the icing & voila! A delicious fall treat! Thanks for the recipe!
