Apples are a staple in our home – we get one in our field lunches everyday from my mother-in-law!  They make a great afternoon snack!

They also make a great side dish for a quick dinner.  When the seasons get busy one of my go to meals is a boneless grilled pork chop – we eat them as sandwiches served with applesauce and potato chips.  We marinate them and serve them with rice.  But we also just give them a quick seasoning of salt and pepper, throw them on the grill, make quick cole slaw-using precut cabbage and jarred dressing, and while the pork chops are on the grill I throw together some of these Easy Fried Apples.

To Peel or Not To Peel is a big question when it comes to cooked apples!  Some believe the peel helps hold the apple slices together – interesting theory!  I’m in the Peel camp – either way they cook up and taste the same!  I love my easy slice and peel gadget that makes it quick and easy!  If you wanted to leave the peel on using this apple corer and slicer.

Fall is the perfect season for these because, well Fall and Apples go together!  And the apple cider is fresh and puts these over the top good!  But these are a quick side dish anytime of the year because apples are always available – and these taste just as good made with apple juice or in a pinch water!  Believe me, if it’s a homemade hot meal no one will complain!

And see that cookie up there in the corner – it’s my Apple Cider Cookie – they will clean the plate so fast just to get to that cookie they will never know if you used apple cider, apple juice or water!!
