Ingredients

  • 1 9 pound Bone-in Smoked Ham You can use a boneless or spiral sliced ham as well - size wise you can use any size you like, cooking time will be effected-ham should be cooked to 145 degrees internally
  • 2 cups apple juice
  • 1 cup maple syrup
  • 6 teaspoons ground mustard
  • 3 Tablespoons corn starch
  • 3 Tablespoons water

Instructions

  • Add apple juice to crock pot and place ham in cut side down, this allows the fat to melt down over the meat as it cooks this adds flavor and moisture.
  • Stir maple syrup and ground mustard together, pour over ham.
  • Cover crockpot and cook on low till internal temperature is 140 degrees, approximately 4-5 hours for a 9 pound ham.
  • Once ham is cooked remove from the crockpot and carve.
  • Combine corn starch and water until smooth, add slowly to juices in crockpot and whisk together, cook till thickened. Serve with ham.
  • Can also keep ham warm in juices in crockpot till time to serve.

Notes

The cooking time for this recipe is based on a 9 pound ham which was the size I had - smaller or larger hams can be used just adjust cooking time, best way to know ham is done is with a meat thermometer.
Ham should be cooked to 145 degrees internal temperature as per the USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service.
