Stove Top
Put all the ingredients in a large saucepan on medium heat and warm through
Crock-Pot
Add all ingredients to crockpot and cook on Low - you are warming all the ingredients, they are already cooked.The longer it cooks the more tender the onions.
Notes
Not a fan of chunks of onion - leave them large for the flavor while it cooks or you can use onion powder.
