Homemade Ham and Cheese Sandwich

Ingredients
  

Bread Dough

  • 1 cup hot water
  • 1 Tablespoon Yeast
  • 1 Tablespoon sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3 cups of flour

Spread

  • 1 stick of butter
  • 1 1/2 Tablespoons Poppy Seeds
  • 1 teaspoon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 cup minced onion
  • 1/2 - 1 pound of ham slices
  • Favorite cheese slices

Instructions
 

  • Dissolve yeast in warm water; add sugar butter salt and flour
  • Combine until dough is formed and let raise 20 minutes
  • Roll dough into a 10x14 rectangle and spread the poppy seed mixture down the middle long ways
  • Place ham and cheese sliced down the middle over the spread
  • Cut sides of rectangle into 1 inch stripes on both sides and alternate sides covering ham and cheese with strips
  • Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with poppy seeds
  • Allow to raise for 10-15 minutes
  • Bake in a pre-heated 350 degree oven for approximately 30 minutes
