Sangria is my weakness, all the different kinds. This Sparkling Cranberry Sangria is a Thanksgiving tradition that will always have a place at my holiday table.

I have a thing for sangria, there is something about adding the extra ingredients to a bottle of wine that just makes it over the top for me! Which is funny because I’m really not a wine drinker but the addition of fresh fruit and juice that makes me drink a whole pitcher.

Sparkling Cranberry Sangria

I believe I’m taking liberties calling this a sangria. Now technically I believe it is made with red wine. But my personal definition would be a combination of wine and fruit. I have no actual powers to make my own definition but here we are.

I don’t think a person needs a lot of fancy kitchen gadgets but a good pitcher, a cocktail spoon and a muddler sure do come in handy for a drink like this. But don’t be fooled I’ve made this in a big ball jar stirring with a wooden spoon mashing fruit with my meat tenderizer.

Ingredients

  • 1 750ml bottle Moscato
  • 1/4 cup Triple Sec
  • 1/4 cup cranberry juice
  • 2 oranges
  • cups fresh cranberries
  • 1 750ml bottle Risata White Moscato D'asti

Instructions

  • Pour the whole bottle of regular Moscato into a large pitcher, along with the cranberry juice, Triple Sec.
  • Cut 1 orange in half and juice, add in 3/4 cup of the fresh cranberries and muddle {aka mush} into the fresh-squeezed orange juice - add this all to the pitcher, along with the juiced orange halves and allow to sit in the refrigerator as long as you can stand it, over night is best.
  • As best as can remove the juiced orange halves and muddled cranberries when ready to serve. Pour in the sparkling Moscato, slices of the other orange and the other 3/4 cup of cranberries whole - give a good stir and pour!
