I feel a little like the Forrest Gump of oatmeal. Next up on that note is my Sweetened Baked Granola Bars. Using sweetened condensed milk and any add-ins you like will make a delicious snack.
You can literally add anything you want to these granola bars! Once you have the oats, Rice Krispies and sweetened condensed milk as your base just use your imagination to make them your own!
Combinations To Try:
- White Chocolate Chips, Dried Cranberries
- Salted Dry Roasted Sunflower Kernels, Raisons
- Chocolate Chips and Pecans (my personal favorite and this recipe below)
- Almonds, Dried Cranberries, White Chocolate Chips
- Mini M&M’s, Peanuts, Mini Marshmallows
These bars freeze well so they make a great plan ahead snack. Be sure they are in an air tight container and of course completely cool before placing then in the freezer. Great for those times when you are in the mood to bake you can easily double the recipe to make them all the same. Or make a couple of different recipes with different combinations of add-ins.
Sweetened Baked Granola Bars
I bake my bars in a 9×13 pan lined with parchment paper to easily get them out to cut. But Amazon has lots of bar pans that would be amazing to have to bake these. Each bar would evenly baked with crunchy all the way around. Some day I want this bar pan for my granola bars!
